Meet Frou-Frou!
Sweet mama Frou-Frou was taken in as an owner relinquishment, along with her two male puppies Edgar and Peppo. Their previous owner has some medical issues, so they sought help on social media. The little family of three had been living with a foster family in Ensenada Mexico and they just arrived in San Diego on 2/22/21.
We anticipate the puppies will be a small breed in the 15-20 pound range when full grown, as Frou-Frou their mom is full grown at 13 pounds. The puppies look a little “puggly” sometimes (ha, ha!), but mama Frou-Frou is likely a poodle/terrier mix. Please do not apply for a member of this family if you are looking for a “hypoallergenic” or “low shedding” dog, as we do not know if they fit this criteria. We haven’t noticed if mama fits this definition and the puppies are too young to know if they will be “low shedding” or if they will shed a lot as adults.
This little family are not expected to be house trained, so adopters will need to be willing to provide this training. They are just learning crate training. They do NOT like to be alone, therefore apartment living for a single working adult will not work for them. All three of these cuties are great with people, dogs, and cats! They will be available for a “meet and greet” as soon as Saturday, 2/27/21. If all goes well during the meet, they can go home the same day with approved adopters.
Because of COVID-19, sterilization appointments have been difficult to schedule. Frou-Frou, Edgar, and Peppo will all be sterilized in the on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Their sterilizations will be done in the 92104 zip code area of San Diego. Therefore, priority will given to local area applicants. This will ensure they are able to take the dogs to the pre-scheduled surgery appointment and then pick them up at the end of the day after surgery. Please do NOT submit an application if you do not live in the San Diego area. If you would like to adopt and live outside of San Diego area, you are welcome to wait until their sterilization surgery has been completed to see if they are still available (please note that we do not place holds on any of our rescues).
