This litter of 8 pups consist of 4 boys and 4 girls: Raj, Howard, Leonard, Sheldon, Bernadette, Amy, Barry and Penny.
These 8 siblings were found abandoned in the streets of Ensenada Mexico, left inside a cardboard box. Luckily a local rescuer saw them and decided to help! She took them home and the littles were under 4 weeks old, so they required a lot of care. Thankfully they made it through and are healthy and strong!
These pups are now approximately 4 months old. We now have a better idea as what breeds we think they may be (see more information below for each pup), but we don’t have any information about their parents. Here is some more information about each pup:
Howard: Yellow Lab mix; potential 35 pounds, but likely 30-40 pounds
Raj: Flat Coated Retriever mix; potential 40 pounds, but likely 30-45 pounds
Amy: White Lab/Terrier mix; potential 30 pounds, but likely 30-40 pounds
Sheldon: White Lab/Terrier mix; potential 30 pounds, but likely 30-40 pounds
Leonard: Chihuahua/Dachshund mix; potential 25 pounds, but likely 15-20 pounds
Penny: Flat Coated Retriever mix; potential 40 pounds, but likely 40-50 pounds
Barry: Smallest of the litter; Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix; potential 20 lbs., but likely 12-15 lbs.
Bernadette: Chihuahua/Dachshund; potential 25 pounds, but likely 15-20 pounds
The ideal adopter will be someone who is willing to provide house training and enroll them in puppy training classes. This way they will learn their basis commands and be the perfect family member.
Note : Due to COVID-19, sterilization appointments are not easy to arrange. This means the pups can only be adopted to local families in the San Diego area to ensure they are able to take them to a pre-scheduled spay/neuter surgery appointments as shown below:
Monday, December 7th: Amy, Sheldon, Barry and Leonard
Thursday, December 10th: Penny, Howard, Raj and Bernadette
Therefore, please do NOT submit an application if you are not local to San Diego. If you would like to adopt and live outside of San Diego area, you are welcome to wait until their sterilization surgeries have been completed to see if they are still available at that time. Please see our adoption process page for more information regarding out-of-area adoptions: https://www.arwob.org/info/adoption
If you are interested in adopting one of these cuties, please fill out an adoption application online at arwob.org. Don’t wait!
