Matthew and Gunnar are a bonded pair and being adopted together would be best for them!
UPDATE 9/5/20:
After about 1 month, Matthew and Gunnar are really loving tame, non-feral life! Matthew loves hugs and belly rubs! Even Gunnar enjoys hugs, although he takes a little convincing at first with his favorite head rubs :) They love chasing each other around and doing everything together. Gunnar is building confidence every day. He only hisses if you move too quickly towards him which scares him. Both boys LOOOVE head pets and “scritches” and purrs up a storm :) Matthew loves to steal all your attention for head pets. Gunnar will cutely inch forward and stretch his head out toward your hand to let you know, “hey, can I get some scritches too?” :)
UPDATE 8/16/20:
Meow! My foster mom named me and my brother after the 80s rockstars, the Nelson twins Gunnar and Matthew. I’m a brown tabby and my brother is a grey-brown tabby. We are super shy and scared kittens that were feral on the streets of Tijuana. I used to be SUPER SCARED of my foster mom but now I LOOOOOVE her and PUUURRR up a storm when she pets me and I just want her to pet me all day!!! :) I‘m still scared of most other humans but hopefully my furever home understands that I need time to feel I can trust you. I would love to be adopted with my brother Gunnar. We are very codependent on each other for comfort and security.
ORIGINAL RESCUE STORY:
Meet the 80s Boys!
Slash, Axl, Gunnar and Matthew
These boys were rescued from Tijuana, Mexico. We believe we have 2 pairs of siblings:
Slash and Axl and Gunnar and Matthew. Both pairs are fostered in different foster homes.
Read below for the foster parents notes on behavior and characteristics:
Gunnar and Matthew very shy and possibly wanted to be feral kittens. However, in 2 short weeks, they have come a long way and Matthew is seeking human attention and purrs like a brand new motor! Gunnar has always been a good kitty; he is scared upon approach and if you try to touch him, he hisses. He has never tried to scratch or bite, though... just defensive and we have seen improvement which we are very hopeful with the right adopter or even if someone would like to foster to adopt this little guy, he is young enough to turn around and not be uncomfortable upon approach.
If you are considering adopting a kitten and do not already have another kitty at home, please consider adopting another kitten, teen or adult as well. Kittens are very cat oriented and can be very lonely without a companion when you are not home. This way, they will have another kitty to play and cuddle up with when you are not with them, and, as an added bonus, they will double your pleasure and fun as well! Don't wait!
