Meet Neapolitan!
AKA "Nea" originally called Vaca. She responds mostly to vaca, well, she responds to love and food, you extend your arm to give love or offer food and she will be right there.
We love Nea! She was rescued in Mexicali, baja back in late july when she was found with her 4 pups which were already about 2 months old. She was left in baja being fostered for a couple months until her pups could be old enough to come to San Diego.
In mid September she crossed with her pups (3 girls, 1 boy who were Blackberry black lab girl/Chocolate choco lab girl/Strawberry yellow lab girl/ Vanilla white lab boy) as you can see this ice cream family is just delicious! Her daughters blackberry and Chocolate have been adopted and Strawberry & Vanilla are being fostered together thriving and being amazing little pups it would be amazing if adopted together but not needed. These pups are typical happy go lucky, active, loving, social, fun and super sweet beautiful pups who as of october are approx 4mo and 15lbs we believe they will be in the 40-60lbs weight range full grown.
Nea is already full grown at 30-35 pounds. She is almost knee level, a calm, gentle soul who would be wonderful new family addition she has been fantastic with all dogs, cats and people she encounters. She is easy going, she will hang with the dogs but doesn't really play rough she likes to lounge mostly in the sun bathing. She is also crate trained, not sure about being house trained but she likely is or could easily be trained and trusted slowly. She is not a barker at all.
She was pregnant again when she was rescued and her pregnancy terminated, poor girl, she has had enough litters (as visible through her worn body) and its time for her to rest and enjoy life.
She doesn't great denture as she is missing several front teeth and will likely need a dental in the months to come which adopters should be aware and willing to do so. This girl also LOVES food so adopters need to be mindful so she doesn't get a bit chunky as she could easily do so.
She would be a grat dog for first time adopters, she would be fine at dog parks, doggy day care or being left home alone during work schedule, she is not very active but could become active as time progresses, she has had to care for puppies likely her whole life so she is just 'catching up' on relaxation. To foster, adopt or foster to adopt this beautiful soul please submit an application online @arwob.org
