Cosmo is a young teen who came to ARWOB as an owner relinquishment.
We were made aware of a home who kept their dog in horrible conditions.
Cosmo was taken from an abusive male owner who kept him tied to a post without food, water or shelter in his backyard patio and we believe he was subject to physical abuse by the owner.
Because it's in Mexico, there is nothing we can do legaly but we have alerted authorities in the hopes he is not allowed to own more dogs and a volunteer who lives around the area will keep an eye out on his property to make sure other dogs don't end up under his ownership.
cosmo arrived arwob in August 2019 and has been in San Diego since September. He is fostered by a family who live in San Clemente and often visit San Diego so
we need an application submitted to schedule a meet within a week of the application submission.
he is fostered along a female senior pitbull and an adult cat. He also frequently stays with our president and founder who has Several dogs and cats all
ages and sizes and is always easy to incorporate to a new dog crew. He loves to meet dogs!
The following is what his foster mom says about him as of 12/06/19
"Today (2 months after his rescue) Cosmo continues to be fearful of men, but we have seen improvement. He gets along with dogs and while under the care of his rescuer/foster in Baja, he lived with several dogs. As of late August, he is boarding in the kennels in San Diego for exposue to other things like walks on leash and meeting different people he is now exposed to. He is actually doing well, but is not the best environment as he is active and he would love to be somewhere he can have freedom to run around and be excercised.
We would love to find a foster or adopter for this handsome fella who is almost full grown, if you are looking for an active, medium size teen like Cosmo and would like to meet him,please submit an application online. We will update his bio as we get to know more about him, but a foster one on one could learn more information and details about his exact personality.
We think he would be ok with children, gentle well mannered kids who don't startle him, but for now a home without children might be best. He has not lived with cats and we don't know if he would be good with them.Also keep him away from cat litter lol. Nugget stealer!
He is allowed on the couch when invited but he will get off if you ask or say no. He's a good walker, But he doesn’t pull at all on the leash. He does explore but it’s super gentle
