Meet Shasta!
Shasta was an amazing mother to her 4 kittens who were born when she was not more than a kitten herself. All of her kittens have been adopted and now it is Shasta's turn to find her forever home.
Poor Shasta can't stand the other cats and kittens around her and they make her grumpy, so she is having a hard time showing her true personality to potential adopters when she is in one of our adoption centers.. When she's stressed (from the kittens around her) she'll get mad and give you a swat with her paw. However, don't let that fool you! We think that once Shasta is in a home of her own with no other cats around, she will turn a corner. When she was originally fostered in a home with her kittens, she was nothing but sweet, gentle, and loving.
When our volunteer brings her to a part of the room in our adoption center where she can't see the other cats, she becomes sweet and loving and rubs up against you and likes to be petted. This poor girl is getting a bad reputation because of her kitten intolerance! She really is a loveable, gorgeous kitty who wants someone who will understand her. Shasta is also very intelligent and listens when you tell her something. Watch the video where we tell her to stay away from the kitten and come over to the person. It's like she wants to do what is right, but just gets so irritated sometimes. Who can't relate?

Since Shasta is frightened with the number of cats in our adoption center and it is so stressful for her, finding a forever home or a temporary foster home for her where she feels safe, loved, and the only cat in the home is a top priority. If you are interested in adopting, trying a foster to adopt trial, or providing a foster home for her for the time being, you will need to fill out an application online.
