Gracie is a very sweet and shy girl. She is going to be 6 or 7 in September. She is a black and white short haired who loves a quiet life. She has never been out in the world and has met only two small dogs in her lifetime. She was quite docile and curious about them and didn't display any fear or 'attitude'. The same can be said of other cats, (she has not been exposed), except for her brother who came into the family a year after she arrived. For a few days there was hissing on both sides, after which they became close friends. The newcomer is a male and quickly took over the dominant position. Gracie accepted this with her usual 'grace' and dignity.
She is not a very ambitious sort. She enjoys being close to the family... sleeping on her mom's bed and generally taking life easy. She is perfectly potty trained and a lady at all times. She does well with children but has never seen a baby-person or toddler. I doubt she would enjoy having her tail pulled, but then who would? Because she is the shy and retiring type, she often hides when strangers come to the door, or comes inside. Being the intuitive type however, she seems to know which visitor is safe and somebody she would enjoy meeting, and will come out of hiding at the most unexpected times. Usually immediately after my announcing that she is shy and hiding under the bed. She then appears as if by magic, all friendly and warm and charming. She prefers a calm, quiet and loving ambiance and has been a pure joy all these years. (03/03/09)
