|
Handsome Felix is a total cutie. He has the most gentle disposition and although he looks like an overgrown JRT/Chi/Doxie/terrier mix already full grown, this low rider is close to 20 pounds.. a perfect larger small breed. He is not high energy, he is great with dogs.. even other male dogs as he tends to be mostly submissive, passive, and gentle. He will play with dogs, but likes to be around people as well. He is good with people, dogs and cats, although he can be scared of some cats.
He can be shy with new people he meets; he allows them to approach, but will back away slowly being a little nervous. Iit takes him a few minutes and he will come around and approach for attention. He can get nervous and has this adorable little smile/lip lifting. Poor little guy... when he first came to us it would take a while for him to come inside the house and cross the door threshold but with a little help from some of his dog friends to help him build trust and courage, hehas begin to know it's ok to come inside. He hasn't had accidents in the house, but can't guarantee he is house trained. He is crate trained.
Felix is not a big barker, hasn't shown signs of separation anxiety especially when he is left home in his crate. He would be fine with a working adult or a family, as long as the children can be at first understanding and slow with him for a few days until he feels comfortable with them.
He loves to be in the yard sun bathing and does well in the yard when alone or with other dog friends.
Felix is occasionally head shy, especially if approached too fast or you try to grab him by his collar to bring him close to you. This behavior is mostly with new people he meets; he doesn't really exhibit that scared behavior to people he knows.
Felix will be a wonderful gentle, sweet, loving and funny new family addition for a wonderful forever home who would like to welcome him into their life.
If you would like to foster and/or adopt this handsome little dude, please fill out an online application right away @arwob.org to schedule a meet and greet with Felix in the 92117 area
Felix is really hoping to meet you as soon as possible!
