Meet Angelica!
This little girl is an angel and she has gone through a lot. ARWOB received a call from a volunteer, who was involved in rescuing two dogs who were left behind when their family moved. From what we can tell, Angelica lived with another female dog that was likely her mother or her sister. These two girls did not like each other and we think it is because the other female developed an alpha personality, whereas Angelica was the more submissive beta personality. Not only had these two girls been left behind without food or water for a week, but we think there had been many fights between them during the time they lived in these unhappy conditions. We have observed some older injuries and scars, as well as some fresh injuries. In fact, we believe Angelica was the submissive dog based on the old injuries to her ears and face.
Despite all that Angelica has been through, she is the sweetest girl! She would be an amazing family dog, as she loves children and adores people. She has done well with other ARWOB dogs since she came to us, so we do not think she shows any signs of dog aggression. But it’s clear to us that she definitely prefers the company of humans rather than her canine friends.
We will update Angelica’s biography once we get to know her and learn more about her personality. But in the meantime, we would love to find a loving foster home for her so she can adjust to living in a safe environment while we find a forever adopter for her. We also offer foster-to-adopt programs in case you would like to get to know Angelica better.
