To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Meet Roofus!

Yes, Roofus is a GIRL and she is a total purr machine who ADORES human interaction.! There is a reason for our madness in selecting her unusual name, as Roofus has quite a story to tell!

Sweet Roofus was stranded on the roof of a second-story condominium in Otay Mesa for 10 days before she was finally coaxed down into a waiting trap filled with food. Many people had tried to figure out how to rescue her and were extremely worried for her safety. She managed to survive up there through a terrible winter San Diego rain storm and she made quite a stir on Facebook. Thanks to the diligent efforts of ARWOB volunteers, she was finally rescued and is safe and sound! Roofus is a super sweet kitty, who loves people. One of her favorite things is to receive belly rubs! Her current foster mom says that not only is Roofus gorgeous and sweet, but she is ALL about humans, relishes a quiet and peaceful environment and just wants to sit by you or purr while getting petted in your lap. After playing (and winning) 'Survivor' as dramatically as she did, Roofus now longs to find a home where she can enjoy the show from a cozy couch by her forever human. We would like to find a calm and gentle home for her, so if you are interested in this “famous roof top kitty” who will melt your heart, please fill out an online application right away!
