Hi I'm Nova!
I am an adorable pit mix pup who was purchased as a gift at only 6 weeks old (likely from a backyard breeder). My family doesn't want me because the kids got tired of me and have new toys, so they gave me away to an ARWOB volunteer. Here I am looking for a GOOD forever home, not a just "while I'm a baby" home. My adopters should be able to provide for me forever. Because people are scared of my breed, I am stereotyped A LOT and will have hurdles to jump when people cross the street when they see us, even though they have yet to know me. Many will require insurance or restrictions to have me in the home or increase monthly pet deposits. To avoid this problem, I will need a family who has a steady lifestyle and a stable home to avoid the unsure moves and pet policy restrictions or state restrictions. Everyone wants me but not everyone should adopt me.
I'm small now but will be strong as a teen and as an adult. So I would love my family to have the ability to spend quality time with me when I first arrive home to teach me house training and potty training, but most importantly obedience training. I will need to be enrolled in puppy school to learn some basic manners and how to be well behaved on leash when we go around our hood or hikes and runs. Puppy classes also allow me to keep meeting other doggy friends and when time comes and I'm big enough go to dog parks!! Yay!!
Here is what her foster mom already has to say about Nova: “All I can say is: this is one GORGEOUS little girl, and she is an absolute sweetheart who is good with dogs, good with cats and even managed to charm the macaw (he now throws his food pellets on the floor to get her near him). If you are looking for that kind of pup, go meet her ASAP: I doubt she will be available for very long. She is on a mission to find that forever home, she steals hearts and makes no prisoners.”
