To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Meet Ivory! Ivory is an adorable terrier mix that came to ARWOB as part of the rescue efforts for animals that were impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Ivory left Louisiana on September 19th, along with many other dogs and cats on the bright red Rescue Express buses. After a 2-day long road trip, Ivory arrived in San Diego on September 20th so that we could help her find her forever home! 

Ivory came in as a pregnant stray to Paws of NE Louisiana on September 13th and she is just lucky that she was exited from the hurricane area so that she could find a safe home of her own. As Ivory settles in, we will learn more about her personality. But at this point she seems like a typically happy-go-lucky dog. Her foster family has said they can tell she has been a high-alert stray for a long time, but she is quickly losing that behavior and learning how to relax. She absolutely loves other dogs and her new best friend is her "foster sister" Daisy, a 3-month-old puppy, who she plays with nonstop! Ivory's ideal home would be one that has another dog since she is so social and enjoys the company of other dogs. She does great on a leash and loves to take walks. She is very well behaved, house trained, and appreciates lots of hugs and kisses.
