Meet Tiny! This adorable long haired Chihuahua mix was rescued from a rural area in east San Diego County when a good Samaritan noticed that she had been avoiding people for months and searching for food to survive. When ARWOB was contacted about rescuing Tiny, we noticed she would not let anyone approach her. But with the hard work of some great volunteers, we were able to trap her and take her in. We were shocked that she was able to survive on her own in a rural area surrounded by coyotes and other wildlife, so she is one lucky little lady! Tiny had no microchip or other form of identification and we noticed immediately that she was still intact. So ARWOB has made arrangements to get her spayed right away and we are looking for a foster home for her ASAP.
Tiny is very sweet and surprisingly she does very well walking on a leash. Because we are still getting to know Tiny, the ideal foster home will be one that has a very secure yard and home so she can feel safe. She will need a foster family that can help her gain trust and learn what being in a home is all about. So far she has done very well with people and has not been reactive to other dogs. We have not tested her with cats yet, but we would be happy to do so upon request.
Since Tiny has been living alone on the streets for quite some time, she would like nothing better than to find her forever, loving home.
