Meet Jagger and Ely! Jagger (the father) and Ely (the daughter) were relinquished by a family in Tijuana. A kind neighbor noticed the dogs were being kept in a very small area and were being neglected, often with no food or water. The kind neighbor persuaded the family to relinquish them so they could possibly find a good home for them. They were both flea infested and very dirty, so the first thing they did was take them for a bath and grooming session. Both of these lovely dogs are now healthy and happy, so ARWOB agreed to take them and find them a forever, loving home. They are a bonded pair, so it would be wonderful if they could be adopted together, but we are willing to adopt them out separately to the right adopters. We are currently looking for a local foster family for both Jagger and Ely and we also offer foster-to-adopt programs as well.
Jagger only seems to bark when he is excited about seeing someone he likes. He sometimes will bark when he feels shy and nervous around a person he does not know. However, once he feels secure and comfortable, he acts a lot more relaxed. His current foster family has taken Jagger out for walks and noticed that he sometimes seems nervous and will stand still. But he is playful and sociable with people and other dogs — he just needs a little extra time to warm up. Jagger may just need a little TLC to help him gain more confidence since he spent much of his life confined to a small yard area. But we are confident he will blossom into a great companion dog.
