Meet Lake! Lake is an amazing 20-pound terrier breed who is estimated to be 2-3 years old. He was found as a stray back in February and was put in quarantine and vaccinated at that time. Unfortunately the veterinary office where he was staying had an outbreak of distemper and poor Lake had not had his full round of vaccinations yet. He did not have enough of a protection and he and several other ARWOB dogs were infected as a result. Thankfully Lake is a strong young man and although he went through a few rough weeks in the beginning, we are very happy that he survived the distemper! More importantly, he only has a minor body twitch that doesn’t seem to affect him when he is on walks or other outings. The minor twitch is only noticeable when he is at rest or sleeping.
Lake just loves other dogs both big and small and really adores people!! He also enjoys children and even cats! He is very energetic when he is with his doggie friends, but he can be calm with other dogs if they are not interested in playing with him. Lake just loves to go on walks and explore! He has amazing stamina for exploring adventures, but he also loves to sleep and is very comfortable being in his crate. Lake loves his food and does very well during car rides. We cannot say Lake is house trained, but he does not have accidents after he becomes familiar with a home and when he is left in his crate when someone is not home. Lake is not a big barker and he will only bark if he is in the yard and hears commotion in the neighborhood. He has not shown any signs of separation anxiety when left alone.
Lake would love nothing more than to find his forever home where he can be loved and adored by a family of his own. This handsome little man will definitely light up your life if you give him a chance! He would make a wonderful family dog and he is just waiting to go home with the perfect adopter.
