Meet Odette!
This beautifully colored kitten is an absolute sweetheart and it is easy to see why she captures so many hearts! When she was first rescued, she was absolutely terrified around people and other kitties in one of our adoption centers, wanting only to hide in a corner in her condo or in a cat tree...away from strangers. Because of this, we have had our volunteers spend lots of extra one on one time with her, giving her additional TLC so that she could learn to trust and lose her fear of strangers. She has come a LONG way in a short amount of time and the change in her warms our hearts!
Odette absolutely Loves to be gently petted, brushed, enjoys sitting when placed on your lap, and enjoys playing with some of her kitty friends. She loves all kinds of toys and especially enjoys a mutual friendhip with Beau, one of our boys up for adoption. They play, share toys, reach out to each other, and give an occassional swat!
Because this little girl is shy, and because it is important for her to continue to make such great progress, she needs a calm environment and an experienced kitty adopter who will continue to give her all of the extra love, attention, and support that she needs so that she will continue to progress and not become a scaredy cat who hides from others rather than interacting with her adopters.
Since she enjoys interacting with some of her feline buddies and, because she is a kitten, if you are intertested in adopting Odette and do not already have another kitty at home, you might consider adopting another kitty, as well, in order to keep her company so that she won't be lonely when you aren't home. This way, she will have a buddy to play and cuddle up with when you are gone and they will double your pleasure and enjoyment in return! On the other hand, she can be the only kitty at home if there is someone at home usually in the day so she will receive attention and won't be lonely.
