Lovely Hershey is close to 35 pounds and we believe she is 3 years old. We found her on the streets of Baja walking or should we say limping her way around the busy streets looking for food in the trash cans. We approached her and without having food in our hands she limped as fast as she could to greet us. After we showed her a can of food she became our shadow and could not leave her behind to become one more forgoten life.
Since the first day she has been the picture of love, full of energy and always surprising the volunteers how smart she is with different activities and behaviors. She is a great nanny to our smaller and younger rescues.
We believe Hershey had a close encounter with a car as she had been limping and holding her leg. We thought she may not recover and would have be a special needs dog, but to our surprise even our vet tech surprise within a month she started to put weight on the leg and now 3 months later of being rescued she shows us how wrong we were by jumping as high as she can and run around with everyone else. What a little bit of love and great nutrition can do for the hurt body.
She would be a great companion for someone who would like a large breed stuck in a little body and Would be a great addition for a family or someone who would like to take her for long walks or the dog park.
Lovely Miss Hershey is a beauty with a lot of personality and is loved by all who meet her.

Adoption Requirements:
1) Adoption application filled out and sent to us 2) Meet with Hershey, if its a match the next steps are: 3) Home check by one of our volunteers 4) Adoption Application 5) Educational sit-down (Volunteer will give you information on pet care to prevent emergency situations) 6) Adoption fee - $200 dollars Note - The adoption fee is used to cover the expenses of sterilization, vaccines, deworming, microchip, and other medical expenses that were needed during the rescue and care of Hershey. It is also used to help other dogs/cats in need, its the only financial resource the group has to cover the cost of gas, food, flea medications, among other expenses. Your adoption fee help us continue to sterilize other owned animals, donate food and medications to low income families and of course to continue to rescue, foster and adopt both cats and dogs.
