Latte was purchased by a family when she was just 2 months old, the typical story of a cute puppy purchase without thinking WHAT the needs of a breed are going to be.
She lived with that family until she was relinquished to ARWOB early June.
Latte lived with a family who has 3 small children and 2 small dogs.
However they always left her outside in their back patio along with one of the dogs and occassionally allowed her inside. They too did not walk her on a leash nor take her on outings so the poor girl craves attention.
Latte was a LOT to handle when she was first relinquished especially because she is/was leash reactive - meaning she will bark at people or other dogs while on leash although she is very friendly towards them she reacts when on a leash.
Latte has been with us for 2 weeks and huge improvements have already been made by HER. With little work she has been settling down and learning to accept changes and new things.
She is GREAT with ALL dogs, sweet around cats, loves children BUT she is a jumper she likes to jump on people, not strongly but depending the childrens size it could be a problem until that is trained out. She is also mouthy. She likes to place your hand in her mouth but is VERY gentle, again, a behavior this puppy just needs patience and training out off.
Latte behaves the best when she is integrated into being part of a family. She does well in the yard and is not destructive nor a huge barker.
She does well in the car and is VERY food motivated and will learn fast with the right family who will take the time to do training with her.
Latte - does have leash reactivity but its improving everyday with exposure to other dogs and people, but families applying to adopt her should read and understand what that means and be wiling to put in the time for her puppy training.
This unique and beautiful girl is an excellent companion who provides laughter and smiles to the volunteers who know her as she is just such a sweet puppy and has shown zero aggression to anyone
