Loving Canela is a young adult approximately 1 year old, med size, about 40 pounds, who was rescued off the Tecate, Mexico dog pound where she happened to appear on a video in the background. The volunteer shooting the video said, " Oh that little brown dog has been with us for 5 months....." after an ARWOB volunteer heard that on the video, she was able to find out who the dog they were talking about was and made sure to make arrangements to get her out. A dog surviving in a dog pound, especially in Mexico for more than a month, is rare, so we took that gem before her luck ran out.
She is such a deserving dog, like many; she just happened to have a little guardian angel working double time to make sure she survives and finds an amazing, loving family. She LOVES people, she is great with dogs and is ok with cats. She rides well in the car and is learning the crate training. So far, she doesn't love the leash and will "break through" her walks but, for the most part, she is trying to understand that whole leash concept :)
