Meet Red! We call her this because of her coat which is no longer brown/black but mostly red from being exposed to the sun for so long. Now, her coat is discolored (in a good way) to a beautiful bronze/red color! She is a very petite-framed Chow/Shep mix, is about knee high, has a thick Chow/Shep undercoat, small paws and short legs. She looks bigger than she is because she has an amazing big and beautiful face. She was rescued from the streets of Tijuana, Mexico when a Good Sam contacted us concerned about this very sweet and docile dog who looked very pregnant. A volunteer transported her to ARWOB in the U.S. and the rest is history.
Red is amazing! She came in very weak and anemic hence she was very quiet and mellow. BUT, a few days after she sprung back with new energy and showed what an amazing, loving and well-behaved dog really was and is. She does well around dogs but mostly ignores them in a sense that she doesn't engage them in play. She is OK around cats but hasn't been left unsupervised around them. She LOVES people and would be a great family dog.
Of course because of her history she would prefer someone who can walk her multiple times a day since she was a street dog for so long and naturally wants to go check out her neighborhood! She is very quiet in the yard and house, doesn't bark (at least we haven't hear her yet) and she's really just a great girl! She is perfectly sized, has the perfect behavior and of course is simply just gorgeous!
