To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

We not only provide you with everything you need to take care of one of our rescues, but the experience is SO fulfilling. By placing one animal into a foster home, you allow us to save another. We are always in need of foster parents.

Meet Leona. At 3 1/2 months old and 17lbs as of 3/24 she was found abandoned with her 5 sisters by one of our volunteers. Her sisters have already been adopted, and little Leona is still in search of her forever home. She is currently a 17lb pup with lots of happiness to share. She is great with everyone she meets - men and women - and even children as well. Even as a little puppy, Leona is very calm but especially sweet. She gets along great with dogs of all sizes and breeds (she is currently being fostered with a few of ARWOB's rescues). She does great with cats. She is a healthy girls ready to find a family and will be great with children as she is active happy pup but is not a spastic happy puppy.

We think she has some chesapeake because of a wavy coat and very soft coat, but she is unique looking strong features sometimes she looks like a lab, sometimes like a Doberman but really she is just a great large breed pup.
