Dakota is an 8-month-old dog who was found on the streets of Mexico on a very busy avenue. A friend of a volunteer picked her up and recounted how scared and hungry she had been. Dakota is almost completely white and has tan spots speckled across her body as well as tan spotches on her left and right ear and over her eye.
Before coming to the rescue, Dakora lived with the family of the volunteer's friend. While there, she lived with children and interacted with them on a daily basis. She is very playful, but gentle with them and would make an ideal companion for a family with young kids. However, she is a sturdy girl, so she may enjoy vigorous activities such as hiking and going on long walks with a single person or a couple. We are also looking for someone who understands that Dakota is not as well-adapted to indoor living as the friend did keep her outside most of the time since the husband did have an allergy to dogs.
Currently, she is spending most of her time in the yard playing with their other small breed senior dogs. They say she plays gently with them but is also respectful and mindful around older dogs. She loves to toss around her toys and emjoys her morning walks. She sleeps inside in a crate, but still needs help with house-breaking. She rides okay in the car and does well on the leash. She is UTD on vaccinations and medical as well.nShe is not a barker in a sense that she will not bark out of boredom, but will certainly be a good warning dog. She is very playful, sweet, loving and obedient as well as gentle. She is just so super cute!
