Meet Venus. She is 1 of 9 siblings who was fortunate enough to be found by an ARWOB volunteer and taken into rescue along with their beautiful and docile mom Named Sun.
Sun is a typical Mexican street dog, she is just the perfect medium-sized dog who is ideal for a home or apartment setting. She was found roaming the streets of Tecate, Mexico and a couple days later she gave birth to 9 healthy pups. They have a large breed look but are actually fairly small. Since Sun is about 35 pounds we believe these little guys will be anywhere between 30-45 pounds. We doubt the pups will reach 50 pounds but it would be great to have adopters who don't mind their size. As of 8/5/11 these little guys all range between 2-3 pounds and are currently 6-7 weeks. They are crate trained and learning how to use pee pads. Experienced dog owners would be best for these little monkeys.
If you would like to foster 1 or 2 siblings or foster to adopt please let us know and will be able to finalize the adoption after they have turned 8 weeks old. They are not spayed/neutered just yet but will be when old enough. These guys are of course cute and short to medium coat.
The babies will be available for adoption after Friday 8/19/11. Please, feel free to file an adoption application and we will be happy to set up play dates after 8/10/11. Most are in the Clairemont area and have received their first set of vaccinations and deworming. For more information on our adoption process please call or email us.
