Meet Charmaine! She is a 7 week old what we believe Beagle mix. Her mom is a 30lb beagle who is super sweet and people/dog friendly, she is a great mom!
Charmaine may potentially reach anywhere between 25 and 40 pounds. However, this little girl is the runt of the litter, so compared to her sister and brothers, she was not able to wean off of mom's milk until now She has begun eating both dry and wet puppy food and is gaining weight though she is still very small.
All have the beagle face/ears and we are looking for an adopter who is looking for a medium sized dog. We know the mom but we DON'T know the dad. The dad can be a large/medium/small sized dog. We do know that its likely the pups will be closer to the mom size, so they can be a bit smaller like 25lbs or larger like 40lbs. Since they are almost 8 weeks old and almost 4 lbs its very likely they will be smaller they Will be 25-35 lb range. Looking for adopters who own and have no problems with weight/size restrictions or adopters who rent and have checked with their HOA/Landlords on pet weight limit. They are beagle mix, which means they will be medium size even though right now they are small/babies.
Also, adopters need to know/research pet stages. What requirements need to be met during the pup stage (e.i. how often to feed, limit restrictions) and how to adjust as they grow to their needs and adopters schedule. A volunteer will be happy to guide adopters but we also recommend researching/reading on what entitles adopting a young puppy as early as 7-8 weeks of age. We need dedicated and responsible pet adopters, who understand this is NOT the age to be good pets around small children as they are fragile.
