Meet Teddy AKA "Corndog" as his currently family likes to call him.
Teddy is a special dog, who is need of finding the perfect living situation.
Teddy was rescued by ARWOB back in 2009, adopted in 2010 and although his current mom LOVES him he never bonded with her fiance but she didn't give up on him and both Teddy and her fiance had to compromise for both of them to stay. That living situation however, has once again changed with the arrival of a new baby who is now few months old and unfortunately Teddy is not safe around an approaching toddler as he probably sees the baby as a 'very weird doggy' appoaching his things.
So, now Teddy is looking for a home and we are looking for a home preferable with NO OTHER PETS OR CHILDREN YOUNGER THAN 13yr old in the home. Someone, who would like a lap dog to pet, throw the toys around, walk, and love on. Knowing that Teddy will be really loving to his new human ONCE he learns that he can trust him/her but NOT before then, so someone who KNOWS he could try to bite if he is approached too soon without him having fully trusted you. I say this because he was my foster dog back in 2009, once he trusted me he always behaved with me and respected me, BUT if a stranger approached too fast he will not hesitate, he is your typical little dog breed with fast nipping reflex when they feel treathened.
BELOW IS A CURRENT DESCRIPTION FROM HIS EX-ADOPTER:
Corndog is a great dog, however, he is aggressive (he doesn't charge or come after them just all talk) with strangers or people he dislikes around his things or himself and possessive of the ones he loves. He snaps unexpectedly if you are going to pick him up and he feels scared (usualy only from strangers, not the person he loves and trust like his adopter= his adopter can pick him up without any problems), barks when a stranger is near his toy or treat, and growls at people he doesn't know often.
He also has a huge heart and is very loving, he loves being petted and
held, loves laying in your lap. He's a pretty good watchdog and does great
on the leash. He loves long walks, and rolling in the grass. He's on a daily
schedule which includes 2 walks and 2 meals. I have him on a grain free
diet, no corn, wheat or soy and all his treats are grain free as well. I
think he would do best in a home that has no children or dogs.
BELOW IS HIS BIOGRAPHY FROM BACK IN 2009 BEFORE HE WAS ADOPTED.
Teddy is a neutered Pomeranian male, who is about 9 years old, small breed, and has long hair. He is already neutered and has had a dental. Teddy is not a barker whatsoever and LOVES toys. He's a great little companion, very friendly, and would be ideal for a family who does not have children or jealous dogs as Teddy can become a little protective of his food or toys. He will show jealousy towards certain dogs. Teddy has excellent house manners and is uses the doggy door, is house-broken, and crate-trained. He is simply just a sweet boy. He'll play, sleep through the night, and defintely loves to be loved, but is not too needy all the time.
Teddy's story goes back to November 1 2009 when we received an email to help with the exit/rescue of poms from a breeder/puppy mill that had 35 poms in cages. The conditions were not favorable.
The dogs are sweet and friendly, even though they were kept in cages/corrals-- outside in the weather-- for more than 3 years. They behave fairly well although they have never experienced a normal, loving home life. They are fairly quiet but will bark if they hear commotion. Their barks are very soft, however (as is the case with all poms).
