Meet Pinta!

Pinta is a beautiful dilute brindle teenager, who is likely a Shepherd mix.  She was rescued off the streets of Ensenada and is now ready for adoption.  She is a perfect medium sized dog and as of Dec 2nd, she is 10 months old and approximately 38 pounds.  We anticipate she is mostly full grown, but may grown a little bigger to reach 40-45 pounds maximum.

Pinta is currently being fostered and we hope we can find a forever home for her before the holidays!  We do not know if she is good with cats, but she is great with other dogs and people.  She is on the timid side, mostly when meeting new people, but loves affection and attention from people she knows.  She just needs a little bit of time to warm up.

Pinta is currently being in fostered in San Diego and this is what her foster has to say about her:

“Pinta is a wonderful pup. She is sweet, smart, affectionate, clean and rarely barks, even when the neighbor's dogs are acting up. She is a quiet little thing. One of her favorite things to do is snuggle on our outdoor couch. We've taken to having our morning coffee with her watching the sun get brighter and listening to the birds in the morning. Because she's quiet, she's a great one for taking on nature walks as she doesn't scare away the wildlife. Since she is a youngster, she still requires some training and supervision but she learns pretty quickly. She can be timid and loud noises and other dogs sometimes distract or scare her but a bit of kibble and the word "come" seem to do the trick and she seems to quite enjoy neighborhood walks, and trips to the beach. She is ready to find her forever family and is going to make her future owners very proud one day. Pinta is a wonderful dog. If I were ready for my next forever dog, it would be Pinta. But our home situation is not ideal. I adore Pinta. I make sure she goes out every few hours and walk her every day and she has a warm place to sleep. She wants to be indoors and fully incorporated within a family.  When we first met her, she would cower and shiver when she heard loud noises. But now she is calmer and happier. I hope our being a stable place to stay for a while has been a good influence in her life. She really will make someone a wonderful dog.”

If you would like to foster or adopt this lovely girl, please fill out an online application at www.arwob.org right away.  Don't wait!
