|
Flounder, this handsome boy, came to us as a singleton kitten rescued from the streets of Ensenada, Mexico.
He has a personality like no other, brave, active, nothing can stop him!
Sweet, cuddly, loving and just a total character!
He is great with cats, and likely will be great with dogs and of course children.
He is currently an "emotional support bro" to Dory, a little calico kitten who came to us from Tijuana, Mexico at the same time that Flounder did, so, we bunked them together during quarantine time and Dory has gotten much better.
Dory is still a shy little girl and likely wanted to be a little feral, so we rescued her right in time. When she first came in, she would 'purr' after a few minutes of being petted, although she has always tried to hide. However, now that she is in a kennel setting, she may have regressed a little and is not really purring as she was before. She is really just interested in going to play. So, she is not going to be the kitty for everyone/ ideally, an adopter with experience socializing littles. She is only about 2.5-3mo at almost 2.5lbs and she is a great playmate for Flounder and he for her..... a compliment of higher and lower energy.
Dory, however, is not going to be great for a family with kids, unless the adults first work with her and perhaps the kiddos at home to also get involved in socializing her and helping her enjoy being carried around by humans. As of 5/21/21 she is easily picked up (she can try to run and hide but when you have her, she is easily picked up, doesn't try to bite or scratch you. She also stays in place while being petted but not yet enjoying it; this may change in the week(s) to come as she is now at our cat adoption center and we hope volunteers can work with her or at least more exposure to different people will help out. Keep an eye for updates about her, unless you are already interested and have experience in socializing this scaredy types.
They are both spayed and neutered now and will be ready to go home NOW.
They have been fostered in a home with other dogs and cats but not really let alone with them, just around them and we know they will be fine with other pets, with a normal introduction.
Ideally, they would be adopted together or a home with another kitten or feline friend.
We know Dory is not, at least at this time, the best match for most families.
The important factor to adopt kittens is for them to be adopted either with a sibling, a friend, or into a home with other feline friends.
Would you like to meet and possibly adopt this cutie?
First, submit a cat adoption application online for review.
A volunteer will call you to finish processing your application and, if approved to adopt, we can schedule an actual meet and greet to interact with these kittos at our cat adoption center located at the PetSmart in Clairemont where they are currently residing.
Meet and greets can happen pretty quickly as long as applicants can gather all the items from our adoption check list and have them ready. ARWOB does NOT place HOLDS on rescues, so please, only submit an application to adopt if you are READY to adopt within 2-7 days of submitting the application. Typically, the same day of meet and greet (assuming interaction goes well) is the same day of adoption to avoid multiple meetings.
IF a team member doesn't contact you within 72hrs of submitting an application, please follow up with us via email or phone call, otherwise, it may be overseen.
if you would like to meet these sweethearts, submit the adoption application online at our home page ARWOB.org ASAP!
These babies are ready to go home NOW
