My name is Bernie!
These sweet brothers, Beast (black) and his brother, Bernie (smoke color) were relinquished back to ARWOB in November of 2016 after being adopted as kittens in November of 2009. Their mom no longer could care for them because she travels and recently adopted a dog who was not great with them. We don't know why a dog who was not kitty friendly was incorporated into the home, but we are just happy they are back with us and safe. They were not given the best food and hence came back with dental disease. They both were in drastic need of a dental and both had many extractions. Unfortunately, they came down with a cold post dental, which was pretty debilitating for their recovery, and had to have a loving and dedicated foster mom to make sure they both made it through recovery. It's been 3 weeks and their foster mom did an extraordinary job of nursing them back to health!
Foster mom side-note:"On top of being gorgeous, these cats are SUPER affectionate. Young seniors or not, these two are not shy about playing either. I spotted ZERO "problem behavior", despite them being pilled, syringe-fed and cooped-up in a bathroom during 3 weeks for recovery. Their adopter will definitely win the feline grand prize!"
Upldate as of 1/23/17: Bernie and Beast are in a new foster home now that they have recovered from their colds because their "recovery foster home" has numerous pets and we wanted them to have a home, now that they have recuperated, where they have space and free rein of the house Their new foster mom has this to say about Beast:
"Beast is super affectionate and loves spending time snuggling in bed with you. He especially l oves lying on his back and having his belly and chin rubbed. If you're on the couch, he prefers to lounge nearby while Bernie cuddles on your lap. Beast loves to wrestle, chase, and snuggle with his brother, Bernie. He also loves canned food and stealing food from Bernie's bowl. Beast is a fast and receptive learner to not jumping on the counter and dining table. He does not scratch on human furniture, only the cat trees. He uses his litterbox a lot andlikes it kept clean. Beast is more timid when meeting new people than his brother, Bernie. He is also more cautious of dogs than Bernie and only lilkes dogs that are calm and respectful of cats.
These handsome boys are UTD on medical, had blood work and all indicates they are healthy and more than READY to go to a FOREVER home, so, for just becoming 'seniors', these guys are just really older kittens! They LOVE each other and are a bonded pair, hence they need an adopter who can offer them both a a home together. These poor babies went through such an emotional trauma of being relinquished after having a mom for 7 years and on top of that the medical. They certainly had a rough start but now they are happy, healthy and READY to find a loving FOREVER family who will make them a priority for years to come. Might you be the one who will open your heart and home to them?
Their adoption fee is $50 and we encourage you to submit an adoption or foster application.
