Salem is a “wannabe” lab mix! He is fairly small for a lab mix, being 7-8 months old and less than 25 pounds. We estimate he will likely reach 30-40 pounds when full grown. Although he has “lab energy” and would be an excellent running/hiking partner, his terrier side is keeping him on the small side. If you are looking for a SMALL lab or medium sized breed, then this handsome fella is the one for you!
Salem LOVES other dogs and tends to be submissive when he is around other dogs, especially alpha dogs. We think he would enjoy having a doggy friend in the home who he can play with, but this is not a must as long as his adopter is looking to adopt someone who enjoys playing with other dogs at the dog park or in a doggy daycare type of lifestyle. Salem loves everyone, including kids, dogs, and cats. Salem is fully vaccinated and all medical has been done. He is ready to meet his forever family!
UPDATE 3-5-21: Here is what Salem's foster family has to say about him:
"Salem is such a sweet puppy. He enjoys his family time and focused attention with us, but also can play alone and entertain himself. He is confident yet submissive and likes to cuddle. He will rub his body against your legs when he walks by, it’s very cute. He has amazing agility, is intelligent, obedient, and we found him to be easy to train. He is crate trained with no accidents throughout the night, and is house trained as well. He enjoys playing with his toys, and playing fetch. He is not a barky dog. He enjoys long walks and does great on the leash, no pulling. Salem may do best with a physically active family. He is also a great running buddy if someone is looking for that type of companion. He enjoys children and has done well with our 3 children ages 3, 5, and 7, as well as our cat. He is such a gem, we are secretly hoping it takes awhile for him to get adopted so we can keep him for longer."
If you would like to adopt this amazing pup, please fill out an online adoption application at www.arwob.org. Don't wait!
