Meet Sol!
UPDATE 2/12/21:
Please, don't apply for Sol if you are looking for hypoallergenic dogs as she likely isn't one. a family met with her recently and their daughters has red eyes, watery eyes, so doubt she is good for allergy homes, unless treated with medication already. Does she shed? likely, it's difficult to tell on puppies and kittens as they don't start shedding until older, at this time she doesn't much for couple hairs here and there, again If low shedding is a determining factor, to be safe, she isn't the one for you As we can't guarantee no-low shedding.
Sol is fantastic, she's likely not growning more than 15-20lbs But adopters should be open up to 25lbs in case she does. She has more Maltese long hair on top and shorter coat on bottom abdomen/legs, so brushing vs grooming would be most frequently needed, especially if hiking and getting into areas of fox tails because she is not afraid to get down and dirty and explore under bushes and through weeds so we can see her coming out covered in fox tails in areas were weeds are predominant, so, if your yard has lots of fox tails this girl wouldn't be the one for you. Sol has an amazing gentle loving and playful personality. She's pretty light but this little girl can hang with the bigger more active dogs or cuddle with the older senior dogs. Her ideal home will have another playful dog for her to be part of the family or be able to go to doggy get together a daily or often enough. Sol is available now and priority will be given to adopters with other dogs or have a set up of having her around other dogs often.
UPDATE 2-5-21
: Here is what Sol's foster mom has to say about her:
"Sol is a gentle, sweet, bubbly, happy girl who loves to be pet and loves to snuggle with the kids. She has the cutest army crawl when she gets super excited. When she wags her tail she wiggles her whole behind! She would be such a wonderful addition to any family that would give her lots of love and attention."
ORIGINAL RESCUE STORY
:
Sol was rescued along with another dog, when they were spotted roaming and zig zagging between traffic in the streets of Ensenada Mexico. Their rescuer was able to pick both of them up and tried to find their owner, but was unsuccessful in locating anyone. ARWOB stepped up and took both dogs into our care. Sol is now in San Diego with a foster family and she is doing great. She is a fairly active and playful pup, who loves to give attention and receive attention, but she does not like being alone.
This little girl will likely grow to be in the 20-30 pound range when full grown. She is great with other dogs, cats, and children. Just like with all young dogs, she will need structure and guidance so that she does not develop bad manners (i.e. barking, whining, etc.). She will need proper puppy training, especially since she is very young. Therefore, we are looking for an adopter who is willing to socialize Sol and train her to be a well behaved family member. She is learning to be crate trained, but will need to be house trained.
Because of COVID-19, sterilization appointments have been difficult to schedule. Sol will all be sterilized in the 92104 North Park area of San Diego on Thursday, March 4, 2021.
This means that she can only be adopted to local families in the San Diego area to ensure they are able to take her to the pre-scheduled surgery appointment, and then pick her up at the end of the day after surgery. Therefore, please do NOT submit an application if you are not local to San Diego and able to attend the appointments shown above. If you would like to adopt and live outside of San Diego area, you are welcome to wait until her sterilization surgery has been completed to see if she is still available (please note that we do not place holds on any of our rescues).
If you would like to adopt this cutie, please submit an application online at arwob.org
