To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Hi! My name is Kira and I am a 1 1/2 year old German Shepherd mix. I am extremely active and love going outdoors. If it's the park or the beach, I'm all for fun and games because I definitely love to play. The dogs I meet there are wonderful. I simply want to play with them until I can no longer stand. I'm always on the move and need lots and lots of exercise in order to get all that energy out of my system. I am looking for a forever home that will be willing to take me on long walks possibly with a doggy backpack (for extra stimulation!) or for regular runs. I'll be the greatest jogging partner you will ever know! If you have the time, I'm also very interested in becoming an agility dog since I have plenty of energy to spend running through those fun courses.

I'm always up for adventure, but I certainly like to relax at home as a well-behaved dog. Once all that energy's outta my system, I love to spend time with my favorite person because they are my world. I will prove to be the most loyal dog ever and will never leave your side. I will miss you when you go to work or out to play, but I will stay at home quietly until you return. I simply love humans, but I love kids even more and will jump up to greet them. They just get me so excited that I can't help it! I don't like to boast, but I'm also a very smart dog. I know a lot of commands! I know what it means when I am asked to sit, come, lie down, shake, spin, and I'm learning how to bow. Plus I will not hold back when there's treats around. I am very motivated and am eager to learn other tricks if you have more to teach me. I hunger for knowledge and work hard to please! I am active and always moving about, but do sleep soundly through the night, but, if I'm sneaky enough, I will crawl into bed to be next to my favorite person.
