Gordo was found in the streets of tijuana early october and fostered by an indie rescuer who lives in tijuana and she herself rescues both dogs and cats. Gordo loves her family husband and young todler daughter along with cats and interacted with some of the dogs. He is now fostered in a home with other dogs and cats. We can say he is good with all but we have noticed a few things:
Indie rescuer said it took him a couple days to come around when she first rescued him.
When he was transfered into his new current foster he tried to nip at his new foster when they where handing him over to new foster, so, we can say he can be a fear biter on new experiences/ new people. The first day he was observant and a little distant but the next day he was happy as a clam. Although he likes children a family with them will have to take all this in consideration. A family without kids would still need to remember this and make sure either family setting will make sure to make the time to:
1) Socialize him especially while he is a young teen growing up
2) Enroll in dog trainging to socialize properly
3) Be observant and take things slow to not set him up to fail, to adopt Gordo adopters need to make the time to get to know him and safely and properly give him time to meet new friends or family who come over the home to make a positive introduction.

We think he probably had bad experience in the streets or his original home and how such a young sweet boy ended up in the street with some trust issues. Although spaniels can also be commong for this fear 'nipping' behavior. He has never bitten anyone but in the wrong home/inexperienced home especially during his first experience with a home.

To meet Gordo stop by our Saturday 11/9 adoption event where he will be making his debut.
you can check more info about him and the event at arwob.org and submit the adoption application on our home page today! You are also welcome to submit an adoption application and request a foster to adopt trial for a week if a family has some concerns.
