To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Sugar is one of the sweetest dogs we’ve had! She loves to run around and play in the backyard, with you or even without you. When she’s in the house in one. Of our rooms, or running free, she loves to play by herself with toys that are fluffy but have no squeakers. (She likes to eat those ones up!) She also loves to just be by your side and cuddle or ask for rubs. She is most excited when you get home, even after just a couple hours, and she squeals and wags her entire bottom with joy! We are working on leash training, commands like sit, down, stay, etc., no barking when someone comes home, or you’re in another room without her, and house training. She is already pretty great on the leash if you are quick on correcting right when she starts to pull. She knows sit, and she almost knows stay. She runs around a little area with our cat, who she really likes, and she went to the bathroom on the mat leading out of his litter box so we think she did that thinking that’s where she was supposed to go. She’s great in the crate, no accidents in there. And although she does not care for bathes, she just stands there and lets you do it. Overall Sugar is a great dog, very friendly, sweet, trainable and energetic.

Sugar is fostered with a family in the UTC area and we can schedule a meet and greet once we have received submitted adoption applications. If you'd like to foster to adopt sugar, please submit the adoption application and let us know in the comment section you would like to foster first.

Like all small breeds she will need structure and a leadership from her human otherwise she will have a princess attitude about things to bark or do what she wants but her foster family makes sure that's not the case with this sweet little girl. Visit us at arwob.org
