Alex is an adorable Terrier mix. We say Irish terrier because he resembles one, slightly. He is mostly short hair with a little wire hair on his muzzle and face. He also has the cutest little black odd patch of hair on his side chest. He is currently 6 months old and 17 pounds. We think he will grow up to be in the mid 30 pounds.
He loves dogs, is good with cats but he wants to play with them and thinks they are his friends; some kitties don't appreciate his goofiness.
He can be shy and stand to the back when meeting new people. It will take him a day or two to approach with more confidence but after a few days his shy complex goes away and the playful silly Alex takes over. He is crate trained, has not had an accident in the house BUT he is teething so he could grab things from the floor hence we recommend to continue to do crate training. We also recommend that the adopter to enroll in puppy training so he can continue to thrive and actually learn some basic commands; it will also help with socializing around other people and strange places. He does well on leash and in the car. He can stay home alone in the crate during the work day as long as he is active prior and after work. He loves toys and and to play tag with other dogs. He tends to hoard his toys and can share nicely, BUT, depending on the dog he plays with, he can try to be a pushover to get all the toys. He can have a little slight dominant streak in him, like all little terrier breeds. His best friends are Cola and Farinelli.
