Hey! My name is Tony and I am a HANDSOME 9 month old Lab/Pitbull mix. It's hard to believe, but if you look at some of those pictures down below, there are pictures of me of when I was just a small pup. Yea, I've been with the group since I was born and have really been looking for my forever home for quite some time now..... I'm really not all that bad either. Let me just say, I am still young, so I need an owner who will notice that I have energy to burn off. And that means, daily walks preferably 2-3 times a day, visits to the dog park and beach, and constant play. I would even look pretty hip with one of those doggy backpacks on, you pick the color and I'll wear it like a man. Socialization is definitely important to me. I will require frequent visits to the park, so I can learn to properly interact around other dogs, large and small. It would be nice to go to a home with another dog, however, I can be slightly aggressive in my own territory, so it would probably be better if I go to a home without another dog for now. However, as long as I am able to make frequent trips to dog park where my behavior is monitored and corrected, adjustments can be made.

My house manners are pretty good as well. I am housetrained and crate trained. I also sleep through the night and will act pretty calmly as long as I get my daily walks. I am a bit food aggressive, but I have improved tremendously since I was a youngin. I should still eat around other dogs, but as long as I am under supervision. Although I can be somewhat possessive over my food with dogs, I have not displayed this type of behavior with humans. As for cats, I do not do very well around them as I have showed mild prey drive towards them as well as to small wildlife. It is not recommended that I go to a home with any of those, however, with guidance, I hear I do okay.

I am praying that I find my forever home soon. I do need a responsible and motivated owner, though, and will require constant positive reinforcement in order to get past some of my trouble spots. I do respond extremely well though, so as long as someone is willing to dedicate themselves towards me, I'm your guy. (08/18/09)

If you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption application. I am microchipped, neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, and ready to go. My adoption fee is $150 and it covers all the costs for everything I have described. As long as you are in the San Diego county area, you may meet me in my foster home or at a scheduled adoption event, otherwise, ARWOB is a non-profit organization and does not operate its own shelter. Please review our adoption process before proceeding with filling out an adoption application.
