Meet Baloo (aka Bubu)!
Baloo is a small shepherd mix who has had a tough time in life, but we are certain that he will make a wonderful member of your family! He was rescued in Tijuana after being hit by a car. His face was badly injured in the accident, which caused him to lose sight in both of his eyes (see rescue photos). Yet Baloo doesn’t seem to notice that he is totally blind! He does just fine with his sense of smell and intuitive way of navigating life. He absolutely loves dogs and people! He seems to do ok with cats but is never left unsupervised with them.
Here is what his foster family has to say about him: “Baloo has adjusted very well here, with our family and dogs. He enjoys our daily walks, and does very well on a leash. He is the bravest dog we have ever met, especially knowing he is blind! He smells and hears his way around. Squeaky toys are his favorite!! He loves to cuddle, and curl up on your lap. His personality comes out the most when he is excited (food or squeaky toys) and he does a "happy dance." He is quite a delight to have around. He would be a great fit to any family, or single person who is able to give him the time and patience he deserves, as his life is a bit different than most dogs. He does not like to be left behind... he loves to follow you (us) everywhere. We snap our fingers and he follows directly behind. Baloo is loving, hilarious, brave, and just a great all-around pup. We believe he is a shepherd mix and is about 3+ years old. His personality is more around the 2-year-old pup age (except when he wants to nap). It's been a pleasure fostering this sweet pup!”
