To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Meet Poppy!

Poppy is such a sweetie! She loves other dogs and just loves to play around with them.

She may be a little standoffish on the first meet....especially with other dogs who, when meeting her, are a little too abrasive. She would prefer to be friends than to have any conflict. Her best friends are Patsy, Detrell and Blossom. All are smaller breed dogs, but she is completely fine with the bigger dogs as well. Poppy needs to be be in a home without any cats.

Poppy is perfect with people, no shy behavior, she is social and loving. She seems to be very safe around children, BUT she herself can be a little ''strong' pup when she gets really excited, so dog training like basics would be excellent for her. She is smart and will learn fast with some food motivation and someone who will take the time to work on her sit, stay, down, and leash training. She is crate trained and does great in the crate. She is not a big barker and only barks when something entices it. She doesn't exhibit anxiety and does well in the car. She is active, but can also be calm once her exercise requirements have been met.
