To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Meet Artesia! Artesia was rescued as a stray in Ensenada Mexico after she had given birth to a litter of pups. Sadly, her puppies did not survive. However, Artesia is a very special girl because she quickly became the surrogate mother for a litter of 7 puppies who lost their own mother when she was hit by a car. Since that time, Artesis has been a wonderful mother to the 7 “New Mexico puppies” (Taos, Roswell, Lovington, Hobbs, Hatch, Farmington, and Deming). In fact, they have been a happy family ever since she adopted them as her own.

Artesis gets along great with people and other dogs. She has not been tested with cats, so we are not sure how she might be around them. She is sweet, calm, and very playful. We are not quite sure of her exact breed, but we think she may be a Dalmatian Chi/Lab mix. She is only 20 pounds, so she is a petite dog. What we do know for sure is she would make a wonderful companion and would like nothing better than to find a forever, loving home. Won’t you give this Super Mom the love she deserves?
